The Orchards Events Venue (previously known as East Malling Conference Centre) was opened in 2002 by Professor Sir Colin Spedding CBE. The venue is located within the grounds of East Malling Research known worldwide for its fruit research.
Originally the conference centre offered the scientific community well-planned conference facilities, however East Malling Trust soon realised that the conference centre’s potential went well beyond the scientific community, it began promoting it to a wider Kent audience as an ideal location for training courses, exhibitions, conferences, business-to-business meetings and team building events.
During the past ten years, the facilities at East Malling Conference Centre have expanded to include weddings, hospitality and a recently-launched café. These activities have now been brought together and re-branded as The Orchards Events Venue.
“Event’s organisers now have an unbeatable choice of venues and the dedicated team of events staff helps every event run smoothly,”
The offering widened significantly two years ago when Bradbourne House, a Grade I listed building also owned by East Malling Trust at the same location, took on its new role as a stylish venue for meetings and conferences.
Together the two buildings give organisers the choice of hosting their event in either a Grade I listed building dating back to Tudor times or a modern, purpose-built events venue.
