HISTORIC HOUSE OPENS ITS DOORS
One of Kent’s historic houses is about to open its doors to the public via historic tours.
Bradbourne House in East Malling, is a Grade I listed house that dates in parts back to Tudor times. It is launching tours with local historian and guide Pete Batty to discover its remarkable past and the tour will include a delicious afternoon cream tea served in the magnificent Great Hall. Guests on the tour will be able to explore the beautiful property set within 20 acres, discover the Hatton Fruit Gardens, find out all about the Twisden family who had an impact on local and national history, and find out about Bradbourne’s Royal connections.
In historian and Guide Pete Batty’s words, find out all about “One house, 12 Baronets and a host of stories to delight the discerning visitor. The first tour starts on 11th November and will last approximately an hour and a half, mostly inside with wheelchair access. Guests are requested to arrive at 1.15pm and the home-made afternoon cream tea will be served in the Great Hall at 3pm.
Bradbourne House is located within the East Malling Horticultural Research Station.
